What Trailmate Collects

Trailmate collects account information, public profile details, availability selections, interests, profile photos, optional Instagram handles, and optional Instagram media that a member authorizes through Meta.

How Instagram Data Is Used

If a member connects Instagram, Trailmate requests access so the app can display that member's recent Instagram media in a chronological community feed. Instagram connection is optional.

Private Matching

Private matching answers are used only to support opt-in compatibility suggestions. They are not shown on public member profiles or in founder admin tables.

Data Sharing

Trailmate does not sell member data. Member profile information is used to operate the community experience, help members plan outdoor activities, and maintain account support and safety.

Deleting Data

Members can request deletion of Trailmate account and Instagram connection data by emailing alexjoneill@gmail.com. Meta can also send Instagram deauthorization and deletion callbacks to Trailmate's live callback endpoints.
